What does Poikiri mean?

The name ‘Poikiri’ originates from New Zealand (where my dad is from) and the direct translation from the Māori Dictionary is Soccer.


Code of Conduct at Poikiri

Players are expected to arrive on time, wear appropriate sports clothing, and participate positively in all activities. Listening, trying their best, and encouraging teammates are key expectations. Players safety is the highest priortiy. Disruptive, disrespectful, or unsafe behaviour will be addressed immediately. Continued inappropriate behaviour may lead to time out, removal from a session, or further action in consultation with parents.

What if I miss a session or my child is sick? or injured? traveling or on school camp?

Please let us know at least 3 hours before the session begins (as we need to change our sessions to suit the number of players). If your child is either sick or injured you may join another session free of charge or in certain situations get a refund (for single sessions only). Other circumstances like school camp or travel please send me an email at least 48 hours before hand and we can make reasonable adjustments to suit your needs.


How do I get started?

Getting started is simple. First week of the term is free so come for a session 5 free sessions if you like Mon-Fri. Otherwise you can head to the store in the top right corner and book in sessions for the remainder of the term. We’ll walk you through the next steps and answer any questions along the way.


Where do we meet?

Sessions will be on the Farrer PS cameron oval after school from 3pm (kids will have time to eat a snack if they have any) parents can pick up their kid/s from the cameron oval at 4pm-4:20pm if you are running late please email me before hand or call via whatsapp. We will not leave the premises until each child has left with a responsible adult or I have been notified of arrangements beforehand.

What do the kids bring?

Your children should bring:

  • Appropriate shoes (for grass or basketball court)

  • Drinkbottle

  • Clothing apporpriate for soccer (school clothes are acceptable)

  • Shinguards (optional)

  • Snack (optional)


Wet and hot weather policies

Rain we have the basketball courts booked and run modified soccer sessions under the shade structure.

Temperature & UV Guidelines:

  • Under 30°C: Normal activity with regular drink breaks

  • 30–34°C: Modify session intensity; increase rest and hydration

  • 35°C and above: Outdoor sessions cancelled or moved indoors

  • Extreme heat warnings or high UV (11+): Sessions cancelled or replaced with shaded/indoor activities refunds or a free session in the future with a cancelled session
